Cleaning & Sterilization

Cleaning & Sterilization

Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization, these three terms have similar features but each has distinct and important differences. CLEANING is usually restricted in meaning to the physical removal of surface contaminants, usually with detergents or soap and water, ultrasound or other methods. While cleaning does remove soils and bacteria, DINFECTION is the killing or inactivation of some of the microorganisms on the surface of an object without the claim for killing or inactivating all microorganisms. STERILIZATION, on the other hand, means rendering an object free of all living microorganisms including bacterial spores, one of the hardest to inactivate.

Germs lurk all over the place where we live. Keeping germs away makes good hygiene sense. The floor area, kitchen, cutleries, utensils, bathrooms is contaminated with varying degree of germs. Under suitable conditions these germs grow rapidly and cause diseases. Children and elders are prone to diseases as they have lower defenses. Water bottles and baby feeding bottles should be sterilized before use.
If you don't properly sanitize bottles, nipples, utensils and pacifiers, you may be feeding your little one microorganisms that can cause illness.
